The milestone in history of LIAZ was 1958 when got both to incorporation of existing three enterprises and also to incorporation of the independent enterprise , i.e. foundry Liberec-Ostasov. In 1960 LIAZ is extended by the car repair workshop in Zvolen and Prerov and in 1965 the factory BSS Melnik with production of frames was incorporated to LIAZ.
In 1968 the own constructional engineering company in Jablonec n/Nisou was established for next
investment and development. In 1974 the last factory with own automobile tradition – Praga Holesov was incorporated and its task is production of the cabs for all enterprise.
New enterprise was quickly extended up to 12 factories and covered 3 assembling factories, LIAZ 02 – Mnichovo Hradiste, LIAZ 06- Zvolen, LIAZ 07 – Prerov. During max expansion the company LIAZ produced 18.000 trucks and 23.000 engines per year by means of 12.000 employees. In 1989 the company LIAZ was the biggest manufacturer of the on-road vehicles and diesel water –cooled engines.
The trademark LIAZ was relatively well-known on the markets of East Europe and it penetrated also the underused markets in South America , Middle East , Africa, West Europe.
Also China was very important customer with total number of delivered products over 20.000 trucks and with max partial delivery of 5.000 trucks in 1986-87 and 2.000 engines in 1990 – 91. The dramatic politcical changes in 1989and 1990, which affected East Europe and also cancellation of the agrements between the membership countries of COMECON markedly influenced the form of LIAZ.The enterprise was forced to find wholly new production and sale possibilities and to adapt its size and organizational structure to new conditions.
The joint-stock company LIAZ, which were established in May, 1992, picked up the threads of tradition of the truck production in North Bohemia. This tradition started in the turn of century. LIAZ had a seat in Jablonec n/Nisou, also its factories for production of the engines and single-purpose machines. Other factories were in Liberec, Mnichovo Hradiљtм and Melnнk.
In Slovakia the company LIAZ a.s. had the capital majority in the limited lability companies Zvolen and Velka Krtis.
The commitee of „Fund of state property“ decided in July 18, 1995 about majority shareholder of 52,4 % shares of LIAZ for the joint-stock company Skoda Plzen.
About 350.000 trucks and chassis of various types were manufactured since 1952.

In 1952-1958 the trucks of series „R“, mainly dump trucks and platform trucks with bonnet cabin and also buses „RO“ were manufactured. Since 1957 begins the production of new series „RT“ with new engines and forvard cabin: dump trucks „RTS“, platform lorries „RT“, “RTC“, “RTV“, city service trucks „RTK“, street sprinkler trucks „RTH“, towing vehicles „RTTN“ and the chassis of various versions including chassis of the buses „RTO“. Since 1964 after starting the production of front driving axles in factory 03 in Liberec the series of trucks was produced in full –drive version 4x4, especially the fire trucks „RTHP“, towing vehicles „RTTNP“ and platform lorries „RTP“ for needs of forest plants.
As a matter of interest the dump truck in version 4x4 was not produced in this series, but the version 4x4 became the most popular full-drive truck in the following type series.
In 1960 the development of a new engine in inclined version, new cabin, new drive units and platforms for trucks of series 100 was started. This series was designed as substitution of truck series „RT“ in 1968.But this plan was not realized in the given date because the cabins, gearboxes and other accessories were not prepared.
Therefore, in 1969 the production of modernized series „MT“ with old cabin was started for transitional period, but this period lasted almost 10 years. The platform lorries „MT“, “MTC“, “MTV“ in various versions, towing vehicles „MTTN“, dump trucks „MS 24“, “MTS 23“, “MTS 24“, “MTS 25“ for road maintenance,“MTSP 27 – AGRO“ for agriculture and other chassis including chassis for buses „RTO“.
Starting the production of series 100 with inclined engine, only with two-axle version, platform lorries 100.02 and 100.05,towing vehicles 100.421,100.471,100.51 and 100.54 began in 1974.
Also the heavy-duty wheel tractor ST 180 for agriculture was developed in LIAZ and about 10.000 pieces were manufactured.
Since 1984 the trucks of series 100 with fixed central cabin ( without its tilting ) were gradually substituted by series 110 with tiltable central cabin. The series 110 contained the towing vehicles 110.471,towing vehicles of tipping semitrailers 110.491, city service chassis 11.820,110.830,chassis for street sprinkler trucks 110.850,carriers of replecable superstructures 111.811 for road maintenancet, owing vehicles 111.800-4x4 for „State forests „for collection of wood, platform lorries 110.020, 110.030 - HR with hydraulic loader,110.050-110.053 – TIR,platform lorries for army 100.121 – Tanzanie,111.164 – Indonesia and also other trucks. The air suspension system of both axles ( towing vehicles 11.551 and 110.571 ) was introduced in some trucks.
In 1987 the series 110 was extended by series 150,which included the trucks with a new short cabin, mainly the dump trucks 150.261 ( 4x2),151.261 ) 4x4),151.270 – AGRO,151.280, crane chassis 150.850 and 151.850 and later the three – axle trucks in version 6x2- platform lorries 122.053 with air suspension system and third towed axles-series 122.in 1991 were offered 32 types of trucks and chassis .
In 1991 production of the trucks of series 200 was started. The series was characterized again by vertical engine, modernized cabin and some new units and included mainly dump trucks and towing vehicles of semitrailers. The series 200 was also subtype for starting the production of series 300 with engines complying with requirements of EURO I and since 1996 EURO II.
The trucks of series 300 were manufactured since 1993 and they included the trucks in versions both 4x2 and 4x4. with total load 18.000 kg,i.e. the dump trucks 4x2 – 18.29 SB,18.33 SB,18.29 SB – HR with hydraulic loader, the dump trucks 4x4 – 18.29 SA,18.33 SA,18.29 XA – carrier of the replaceable superstructures for road maintenance, towing vehicles for tipping semitrailers, platform lorry 18.23 PB with hydraulic loader,18.29 PB,18.33 PBV with rear air suspension system ,carriers of containers 18.33 UB,chassis for city service trucks 18.23 KB,18.29 KA ( 4x4 ) and for fire trucks 18.29 YA.Further, the trucks 6x2 with total load 24.000 kg,i.e. municipal chassis 24.23 KY and 24.23 KYV with air suspension system of both rear axles, platform truck 24.33 with air suspension of rear axles and with third towed axle and finally the trucks 6x4 with total load 29.000 kg – the dump trucks 29.33 SD/S1 or S3 ( one-sided or three sided dump truck ).
It is also necessary to make a mention of series 300 that it was also manufactured both with Detroit Diesel engines – the towing vehicles 18.37 ( 18.40 ) TBV/DD and with MAN engines – LIAZ 18.42 TBV/MAN.
In 1995 in cooperation with Austrian company Steyer the assembly of trucks of smaller carrying capacity started-the platform trucks 12.18 PB. In 1995 the development of gas engines and chassis of low-deck buses also continued.

In 1995 LIAZ joint-stock company also carried out the important step – the development of a new series 400 was started and the first prototype was acceleratingly finished.
The first truck of series 400, i.e. the towing vehicle of semitrailer, was presented at the world fair in Hannover in 1996 and it was very succesful. The batch production of the towing vehicles was started under the trade name XENA in 1998 and about 40 pieces was manufactured with Detroit Diesel engines with power output 470 HP and under its designation 19.47 TBV DD. Subsequently the dump trucks 19.29 ( 33) XA,SA,SB, with smaller width of cabin SKL under the trade name FOX.

Skoda LIAZ joint-stock company Jablonec nad Nisou was changed by change of its trade name on Truck International joint-stock company, Jablonec nad Nisou. The independent joint-stock company Skoda Mnichovo Hradiste was also established within restructuring onJanuary 1, 1998, which continued to provide the assembly and sale of trucks.
The joint-stock company Skoda Mnichovo Hradiste was sold on November 26,2001 by public sale to the joint-stock copany LIAZ SIPOX with all rights and liabilities in relation to providing the technical liabilities relating to operation of trucks LIAZ and SKODA.
